1. Preheat broiler over low heat.  
  2. Place bread on small sheet pan and toast slices evenly on both sides (flipping halfway through).  
  3. Remove bread from oven and spread one side of each slice with ½ tablespoon butter. Divide cheese among bread slices and put back under the broiler for a minute to melt.  
  4. Remove from oven and top with fig slices, fresh herbs and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
