- Preheat broiler over low heat.
- Place bread on small sheet pan and toast slices evenly on both sides (flipping halfway through).
- Remove bread from oven and spread one side of each slice with ½ tablespoon butter. Divide cheese among bread slices and put back under the broiler for a minute to melt.
- Remove from oven and top with fig slices, fresh herbs and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
